<p>Journey into the heart of this country&#8217;s most influential winemaking community &#8211; the famed Gimblett Gravels &#8211; this terroir has developed as a world beater renowned for its Bordeaux style varietals and now rapidly pursued by the sky rocketing popularity of its intense Syrah wines.   The special gravely soils, unique climatic conditions plus the expertise of our winemakers &#8211; combine to produce a high quality varietal.  Syrah is synonymous with this area, really only grown in Hawke&#8217;s Bay it is our wine of choice today.</p>
<p>We will taste a remarkable cross section of the leading syrah wines and meet some of the personalities involved in crafting these award winning wines and gain an insight into the complexities of getting the grape from the vine to the bottle.  Lunch will be a delicious platter of gourmet local food with special wines.</p>

<p>You will be treated to a private Maori powhiri by a Kuia (respected Maori woman) at your property.  This is a symbolic and spiritual welcome onto the land.  We then depart for Black Barn Food Market on the side of spiritual Te Mata Peak to taste local produce.   After, we travel to the Gimblett Gravels for a private wine course guided by a woman wine specialist and owner of a vineyard.    Become absorbed into the vibrant world of Hawke&#8217;s Bay wine.</p>
<p>Enjoy a lunch platter of local produce at coastal Clearview winery.</p>
<p>Visit more wineries with their delicious wines and interesting characters.</p>
<p>In the evening enjoy a relaxing BBQ at the beach with local wines.</p>
<p>Enjoy the Hawke&#8217;s Bay Farmer&#8217;s Market, the oldest NZ market.  After provisioning at the market, continue on to the beautiful garden at Okawa Station for your unique picnic lunch.</p>

<p>Experience the thrill of landing a trout from one of our many well-stocked and beautiful rivers.  There are excellent local rivers, some further away where an overnight or two might be necessary alternatively you can fly into and fish in remote areas.</p>
<p>Hawke&#8217;s Bay has world class wilderness fishing and with a short helicopter ride you can enjoy a stunning day amongst wild trout.  Either walking or by raft.</p>
<p>Guides:  have been guiding international fishermen for many years, experienced, respected, and know the rivers extremely well.<span id="more-30"></span></p>
<p>Access:  because of our rural connections we are fortunate to have access to large tracts of private land on all our lovely river.</p>
<p>Transport by 4 WD or helicopter.  Raft fishing available.</p>
<p>Half day 8 am &#8211; 1 pm.   Full day -  picnic lunch included</p>
<p>Top equipment provided.   Wet or dry fly, nymphing and spinning.</p>
